Live: Remain, Alive, Be Alive at a Specified Time, Having an Exciting or Fulfilling Life by Sadie Robertson

Live, the newest book from New York Times bestselling author and popular social media presence Sadie Robertson, addresses life’s weightiest matters and choices in fun, practical, and biblical ways and leads readers to engage with God’s truth and light in a world that is growing more and more confusing.

There’s a big difference between being alive and knowing how to truly live. To be alive is something that happens to you. But to truly live is something you get to choose each day. As Robertson says, “When you truly learn to live the life God offers, your whole existence becomes a verb.”

In Live, Sadie Robertson inspires us to thrive in the life God gave us by making choices that will lead us into the fullness He has for us, not into the emptiness the world offers. With photography and captivating design, Live shows us how we can find a rich and rewarding life when we choose to wholeheartedly embrace God’s ways and God’s truth. Moments of decision greet everyone, sometimes on a more-than-daily basis. Some of those decisions are minor and others are life altering, but all serve as stepping-stones to peace, joy, and fullness or to disappointment and emptiness. Sadie is passionate about inspiring a generation to live in that fullness every day.

The book includes material on overcoming jealousy, finding confidence, dealing with haters, waiting on God, living in the moment, discovering the power of words, and knowing how to tell the difference between what leads to life and what leads to death–so young people can make the best choices.

Whether you have a long-time relationship with God or are new to faith, Live is a joyful encouragement to make the most of each moment, to make wise decisions, and to always seek the truth of God’s Word. Filled with stories and biblical principles, Live celebrates what everyone has in common–the opportunity to not simply be alive but to truly live. (Amazon Product Description)

Emma Mae Jenkins, a young Christian writer, has inspired many with the freedom she has to be herself a dearly loved child of God. In her first book, Be Loved, she invites readers to join her on a journey of life-changing faith and the freedom that comes from knowing the love of God.

Lies Young Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets Them Free by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and Dannah Gresh

You have been lied to! Have you been deceived? Through a nationwide survey and in-depth discussion groups, Nancy and Dannah have listened carefully to the heart of your generation. And here are some things they’ve heard:

“I know God should be the only thing that satisfies, but if it could be Him and my friends, then I could be happy.”

“It seems like I have been struggling with depression forever. I always feel like I am not good enough.”

“I tell myself that I don’t really listen to the song lyrics, but once I hear a song a few times and start thinking about what they’re saying I realize that it’s too late.  It’s already stuck in my head.”

“For me, the whole wife and mom thing is overrated. It isn’t cool to want a husband and a family.”

Maybe you can identify. Trying to listen to the right voices can be difficult. This book has been written by friends who will help you find the Truth. Maybe your heart is telling you that some things in your life are way off course. Certain habits and relationships have left you confused and lonely. This is not the way it’s supposed to be.

In this book, Nancy and Dannah expose 25 of the lies most commonly believed by your generation. They share real-life accounts from some of the young women they interviewed, along with honest stories about how they’ve overcome lies they themselves believed . They get down in the trenches of the battle with you. Best of all, they’ll show you how to be set free by the Truth. (Amazon Product Description)

A Young Woman’s Walk with God: Growing More Like Jesus by Elizabeth George

Elizabeth George, author of A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart (more than 150,000 copies sold), offers another life-changing teen book—A Young Woman’s Walk with God.

Christian teens long to please God, but peer pressure, school activities, and physical changes make godly qualities such as patience, kindness, and self-control hard to develop. The good news is that by focusing on God, girls can live the fruit of the Spirit. Then they’ll be able to—

  • put on a positive attitude daily
  • have peace regardless of circumstances
  • experience joy even during difficulties

Faithfulness and gentleness come as teens walk with Jesus and express His love to those around them. (Amazon Product Description)

Claim You Crown: Walking in Confidence and Worth as a Daughter of the King by Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien and Jamie Grace

Young women are deeply dissatisfied with society’s standards (and double standards). They want more for themselves–but sometimes they don’t quite know what that more should be. That’s where Miss Black New Jersey 2018 and Teen Vogue “It Girl” turned fashion writer Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien comes in.

Through her insightful comments on media, pop culture, and pervading cultural myths about beauty, fashion, and womanhood, Tarah-Lynn dismantles the messages that feed into the insecurities, fears, doubts, and guilt that young women experience today. She introduces them to an understanding of God as a loving Father and the King of all kings, who bestows upon his daughters a crown of love, worth, and power. And she shows them how to not only claim the promises of God but also walk purposefully in them as independent women (no prince necessary!) who respond to adversity with righteousness and authority. (Amazon Product Description)

In conclusion, your daughter and you can discuss which book she wants to read this summer.
