#31DaysLWSL Challenge Spending Zero

Welcome to October, Bloggers & Readers –

This month, I have made my commitment toΒ  #31DaysLWSL Challenge Spending Zero with Ruth Soukup in order to NOT buy anything for one month, because it’s great experience to feel challenged that my family and I have not purchased anything in-stores or restaurants. Of course, I have some weakness but I use my strong thinking skill to stay away from in-stores or restaurants. I do usually post my images with #31dayslwsl in my Instagram. Please feel free to follow my Instagram: @joycecortesmackenroth. And if you have not started this yet, it’s okay to get started right now. Please subscribe Living Well Spending Less: 31 Days of “Spending Zero “ for this month and you will get daily emails from her.

On the other hand, I have my personal goal to save my family budget before the New Year 2016. SO how about Christmas gifts? I do not have to worry about buying the Christmas gifts for my family because I can make things at home – like homemade soaps including bath salts, chalkboard mugs (or mason jars), simply knitting mittens (or scarfs), and free printable cards. It’s very wise to not buy anything expensive. I know that my two sons want to buy something expensive but they understand why the family budget comes first. My husband and I are now working on our family budget plan for New year 2016.

Have you thought about saving the family (or individual) finance in order to avoid buying anything expensive? Have you set up your personal budget goal for the New Year 2016?

P.S. don’t forget to follow Instagram: @joycecortesmackenroth and enjoy #31dayslwsl.

Good budgeting allowed my husband and I to retire mortgage free. We had fun but we also saved money. It’s important to not spend above your means.

I THINK I can do this. I think I can I think I can haha. I probably could since I rarely leave the house so eating out would not be an issue but I could not give up my Blue Apron box which is instead of grocery store spending so that does not count right?
See I could also use that logic for other things too though πŸ™‚

This is a great idea. I have a son in college so I need to be frugal. πŸ™‚

This would be a challenge that I can do. My husband would whine though.

I like shopping. I would like to possibly try this. I like to make my own things also.

I like your idea of making holiday gifts this year instead of buying them. I wish you good luck with the challenge!

This is something I really should attempt. I really don’t think I’d get past day five though, once the weekend came around.

I’m a wicked minamalist at heart and love the idea of this challenge. During the holidays we definitely spend a lot more between gifts and hosting or attending parties. I do have a general budget that we try to stick to though.

While I am mindful about my spending, I would not opt in for this challenge. Just not feasible for me. Glad it is going well for you though!

Wow, good for you. My husband and I need to work on this to save more. I am not shopping for gifts this year because I am going to make everything.

I’m a massive shopaholic and I work a lot so I’m always driving from city to city. This would never work for me!
