Many people successfully make it through Thanksgiving and Christmas, even though they hide their depression. Normally, half of the people in the world did not go to a Thanksgiving Dinner nor will they visit their family for Christmas due to their holiday depression. The Lord wants you to enjoy your time whenever you feel happy or sad, He does not want you to continue your depression. You see that depression is only a temporary time. Let’s join in prayer here to overcome holiday depression!

7 Praying Scriptures To Overcome Holiday Depression

7 Praying Scriptures To Overcome Holiday Depression

Father, I am depressed. I do not know how to overcome my depression. Without you, I am lost. I need Your help. Thank you for coming to be with me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~ Isaiah 4:10 NIV

Father, my depression enters into my soul unexpectedly. I do not want to battle with myself. Can You help me to trust you and help me to defeat my terrible depression? Thank you, my Lord, for Your help. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ~ Romans 15:13, NIV

Father, I walk alone every day, my soul becomes dried because of my suffering with anxiety and depression. I need You to help me walk in peace. Thank you, my Lord, for walking with me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. ~ Proverbs 12:25, NIV

Father, my spirit is near destruction because of my holiday depression. I am very much alone at home. Please come to stay with me for a while so I would not be lonely. My Lord, thank you for staying with me always. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Theย Lord is close to the brokenheartedย and saves those who are crushed in spirit. ~ Psalm 34:18-19, NIV

Father, I lost someone whom I love to death. I am crying alone at home. I am very weak. Help me to be strong, my Lord. I believe that you will give me hope someday. Thank you for showing me Your strength. In Jesus Name. Amen.

In my alarm, I said, โ€œI am cut off from your sight!โ€ Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. ~ Psalm 31:22-24, NIV

Father, I’ve almost fallen in a sinful world since my depression hit. I pray that you will come to see me; I believe that you will lift me up. Lift me up so I can continue to walk with You faithfully. Thank you for coming to lift me up. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Theย Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for theย Lord upholds him with his hand. ~ Psalm 37:23-24, NIV

Father,ย I ask you to help me eliminate my feelings of confusion, hopelessness, sadness, and frustration and help me move forward into the future. I pray that You will help me find happiness in my life. Thank you, my Lord, for helping me move on. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. ~ Psalm 126:5, NIV

Dear Joyce, thank you for gathering these Scriptures and sharing your prayers. Depression at any time can threaten to overpower us, but especially during Advent. Praise God His help is only a prayer away. Thanks and blessings!
