Last Sunday morning at my church, my friend gave me one pomegranate. I told her that I did not know what to do with it because I did not try this before with foods. She suggested me to create any foods I could try with it. In my mind, I did not know anything about it. I felt a little embarrassed not to know what to do with pomegranate. During this week, I searched for some pomegranate recipes thru Pinterest and Google. But, I could not find any simple recipes. I went to look into the kitchen closet and found canned cranberry sauce. Now I have a great idea to make cranberry and pomegranate cream cheese for the holiday appetizer.

// DIRECTIONS //

  1. Blend 2 packages of cream cheese and then spread it in a single layer in a medium serving bowl or plate.
  2. Spread the cranberry sauce on top of the cream cheese with the pomegranate arils, mandarin oranges, and lemon zest.
  3. Serve immediately, with crackers for dipping or spreading over the bagels.

I am going to bring the cream with some bagels to my finance class at the church this Sunday. I bet that they will freaking love this delicious cream with some bagels.

I hope that you enjoy your holiday appetizer! By the way, I already found out that National Pomegranate Month is this month, November. I am surprised that I make cranberry and pomegranate cream cheese at the perfect time. It is very blessing to celebrate National Pomegranate Month.

And… Happy Thanksgiving!

    What an awesome recipe! I’ll have to try it out. I don’t think I’ve ever made anything with pomegranate before (except for drinking the juice).
