In the fourth week of our study, I am writing to discuss a brief summary of Patience, which is a part of the 9 areas of the Fruit of the Spirit 9-Week Study. Yet, have you read these articles about LOVE, JOY, and Peace in the past three weeks? If not, you can click to read these articles: LOVE, JOY, and PEACE, So let’s join and focus on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit: Patience.

Fruit of the Spirit - Patience

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: PATIENCE!

Often, some Christians like us have patience issues, but our spirits keep telling us to control our bits of patience. In the Bible, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5, NLT). Our Lord wants us to control our patience within our spirit.

Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. ~ Proverbs 14:29, NIV

This verse describes that we should be more patient so we show our great understanding; however, if we lost our patience, we might be a fool because of our anger or hot tempers. More importantly, we must be more careful about how we act as well as staying patient.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. ~ Ephesians 4:2, NIV

This verse explains that we should be humble and friendly so we show our good patience toward other people within our love. If we are not humble or friendly, people will see us acting disgracefully, and possibly be turned away from God.

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. ~ Exodus 14:14, NIV

This verse encourages us to stay patient so our Lord will fight for us no matter how our situations hard look. He does not want us to get in His way, He wants us to let Him work for us. Simply, we must stay patient and rest while He shows His true omnipotence.

Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord. ~ Psalm 27:14, NIV

Lastly, this verse helps us to understand that we must be strong and follow our Lord while waiting for Him patiently. If we are not strong enough to be patient, Our Lord might hold onto our future plans until we are trusting enough to be patient with Him as He is with us.

While continuing our patience in our spirit, we must maintain to read our Bibles faithfully, pray, and talk with our Lord in our time. Also, we can serve other people and our community patiently as long as we serve our Lord humbly.

By the way, here you can get free cards with Bible Verse about Peace. Click below on this image to download 🙂

Next week, I will talk a brief summary of KINDNESS, that is part of the Fruit of the Spirit. I’m praying that you all would come here to learn some about this.

    Ooh, Joyce, patience is the fruit that makes me think of oak trees when what my prone to wander heart wants to grow is pumpkins. Thanks for sending me after the fruit that lasts!
