How To Pray Humbly with Bible Verses

I’m writing on how to pray humbly. Many people are not very serious about praying as a result of that they sometimes pray while being angry -or- brokenhearted. To be honest, God always appreciates how a person prays but angry -or- brokenhearted? God does not like that way a person prays when he or she is grumpy -or- disappointed. There is no reason why you pray when you are mad. Remember, God knows before you ask what you need in your prayer.

How To Pray Humbly

I encourage you to pray humbly. God wants to see you being humble and peace while praying, He can give you amazing rewards in Heaven. Let me give you some advice on how to pray humbly with these verses.

HOW TO PRAY HUMBLY

Do Not Pray Like the Hypocrites.

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. – Matthew 6:5, NLT

You have to avoid being a fool by yourself while praying as a result of that way God does probably not listen to what you ask for. For example, one person at the church prayed so a long time like I say 10-15 minutes while all people were standing and waiting for the very end of praying. For another example, one person acted as if he or she sang in the stage while praying. I think that it is not ok. The reason is that God wants you to pray humbly and knee down on the floor in your silence. He will and can see you while you pray quietly.

Pray Like Humble Children.

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. – Matthew 6:6, NLT

While praying, you can be alone and have a private conversation with God in your room or anywhere quietly. The important matter that you pray in your silence is to please God so you would deserve His amazing blessings. He knows what you need in your heart when you pray. The reason that you need to pray in your room quietly is that God wants to be close to you more and He wants to let you know that He always listens to what you pray.

Do Not Pray Like the Heathen.

When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. – Matthew 6:7, NLT

Particularly, praying without babbling repeatedly is the matter, this is the only between God and you. Communicate with God is very personal because you and God get along together and have a good relationship. If you pray while babbling repeatedly, God will not listen to what you pray in a cause of that way babbling while praying can lead you to be immaturely foolish. These vain words in your prayer might be not clear or blurry. Two important things that you are doing is to pray quietly and have a nice talk with God once you have clear words in your thought and heart.

Pray To Your Wise Father.

Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!. – Matthew 6:8, NLT

You can ask your Mighty Father in prayer, but He knows your needs before you ask Him. He listens to what you ask for because He loves you and wants you to know that He is here for you.

Pray Using Jesus’ Pattern.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. – Matthew 6:9-13, KJV

I encourage that you pray like that as long as you can continue to do practice in your prayer.

Do Not Pray Without Forgiving.

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. – Matthew 6:14-15, NLT

Think about asking for forgiveness. God will forgive you if you forgive the person who hurt you. If you refuse to forgive the person who is against you, God will not forgive you. You cannot pray without asking for forgiveness.

Since you learn how to pray humbly, God is more pleased to listen to what you ask in your prayer. Remember, praying quietly is the best thing that you can do for the Lord because you are God’s child.

Thank you for writing this. To be honest, this is the first time that I hear about “praying humbly.” 🙂
