Have you become salt for God? If not, it is okay. The main question is – would you be willing to be “salt” in the world for God?
Will You Be Salt for God?
Sometimes we think that we cannot do anything important for God at our workplace, in our neigborhood or at our school. We think this because we look at all the people around us who do not believe in God. Then we are normally afraid to show others that we are Christians. We feel there would be too much adversity, or we would be judged too hard.
[bctt tweet=”Will you be SALT for God? #Christianity #ChristianLiving” username=”unshakablejoy”]God does not make us to do very huge and powerful things for Him every day. But He does expect us to be like “salt” in our world. In the Bible, You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. (Matthew 5:13, NLT).
What did Jesus want?
When I am cooking in my kitchen, I see that salt is very important. Without salt, some foods have no flavor. But when salt is added, the food tastes better. In the same way, God wants us to make the world a better place by being “salt.” We can do this by being loving, kind, gentle and generous. Jesus encourages us to see how people do this in Godly way, the Bible says – In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:16, NLT).
I am praying that you will be SALT for God today. Remember that Jesus said it would not be us who they hate, but it would be Him.
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. (John 15: 17-19, NLT)
Prayer Encouragement: “My Lord, I am willing to become SALT in the world for You today. Help me learn what I need to do, in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
